Some love stories are written across continents — and Elisa and Stefan’s was one of them. With a Brazilian bride, a German groom, and a quiet love for Portugal they had always shared, it only made sense to celebrate their union with an intimate elopement at Monserrate, one of the most romantic and cinematic settings in Sintra.

Although they had never visited Portugal together before, they were drawn to its beauty, elegance, and sense of calm — and they found all of that (and more) in the magical corners of Sintra. Their day started at the exquisite Valverde Palácio de Seteais, a place that feels like it stepped straight out of a dream. In separate suites, filled with soft morning light, the two got ready — surrounded by calm, elegant details and the quiet anticipation of what was to come.

We took our time capturing the in-betweens: perfume in the air, rings waiting patiently, handwritten vows folded neatly on the bed. These are the moments that build a story — quiet, emotional, and full of meaning.

Their first look happened in the gardens of Palácio de Monserrate, and it was pure magic. As soon as they saw each other, everything settled into place — just joy, softness, and that unmistakable feeling of being exactly where you’re meant to be. This was truly the heart of their intimate elopement at Monserrate, and we felt incredibly lucky to witness it.

From there, we wandered through the hidden gems of Sintra — lush gardens, old stone staircases, and views that steal your breath. Their vow exchange took place on the cliffs at the viewpoint of Praia do Caneiro (Colares), with the Atlantic behind them and the setting sun casting golden light over everything. No noise — just wind, waves, and promises.

Everything unfolded so effortlessly, thanks to the wonderful team at Blue Tiles Events, who planned every detail with heart and intention, allowing Elisa and Stefan to simply be present, savor every second, and celebrate in their own way.

This elopement was everything we love about photographing destination weddings in Portugal: real, soulful, and deeply personal. It reminded us why intimate weddings — especially in places like Monserrate — carry so much meaning. When you follow what feels right, the result is something timeless.
