An Intimate and Boudoir Maternity Photoshoot in Sintra

This maternity photoshoot in Lisbon, precisely in Casa dos Penedos in Sintra, its very dear to us. As this pregnancy photo session were taken by the founder of Aguiam Wedding Photography, Gloria Aguiam to her daughter, wish is also a company member and photographer. Me. 😉

On the other hand this makes harder to talk about it! ah aha.

I choose the Casa dos Penedos, because I really love the Romantic feeling it has, the painting on the walls and the amazing view, that on the sunset time its completely superb and unforgettable. Unfortunately it was a rainy day, which is clear to see on my hair, I went to the hairdresser before, but with the little rain we caught everything fell apart.

I really had some expectations about my session, as on my previews pregnancy I didn’t do much. You know how it is, as photographer I’m used to be on the other side of the lens and I’m also very critical with my self, which I find it very common in us, women. And that’s why I really love to extol the beauty we all have on the pictures that I take, and help making every woman feel more confidante, happy and in love with herself, when she sees herself in the photographs.

So, this time, I wanted all. I imagined three different outfits, that I bought in Aliexpress. Flowers, caught by us on the fields, my other half did the purple ones which made it more special, I will always keep them on our home and my mother brought the Calla Lilys flowers. But most of all, I wished to have the most important persons in my life with me, has I don’t know if they will be by my side on the deliver, because of this pandemic time. They are the ones that inspire me most to be a better person and to grow has a good human being, because they really are inspired people with a very good heart. They are my support, my mother and my life partner. I also had to do a difficult choice for this pregnancy session, has it was in a Palace, with many dangerous highs my son didn’t made part of this one. So this session was thought to be more like maternity boudoir portraits. And we have to do another one more easy going with the forth of us.

This maternity photoshoot in Lisbon were made a month ago, at 29 weeks. I have to say this pregnancy’s its being much more difficult to carry then the last one, everybody says that the second ones are a little more difficult, the belly goes bigger much sooner, etc. But I think the cause is, with all the Covid lockdowns, I’ve been very sedentary this last year and half. So I’m lacking of body strength. But, when I look at this pictures and see my self, I feel beautiful and truly blessed, surrounded by love and joy. I can not see the pain on the knees and the stomach aches, etc…

And I know that has the time goes by, I will see more and more the good side of this chapter in life and will treasure this beautiful family memories forever.

I’m also sure that my daughter Flora in the future will love to see how her parents were, and feel how she was born from a great passionate and complicity love.
